These days are strange ones. I've been having weird stomach trouble since a few days before Purim, and am on Nexium until the GI figures out what is going on. It helps enough; I wouldn't say I feel great or normal, but I'm functional -- and that's a big improvement over where I have been.
Breakfast consists of me sitting at the table while Orli and Andy eat. I don't have a stomach for food at that hour, and it takes a bit after I take my medicine before I can eat. Still love looking at these two sweet faces, though.
Drive to preschool, drop Orli off and then I get a few minutes of NPR as I drive to work.
My walking zen time is watering the JCC garden. We have two plots, but I've taken responsibility for weekday watering all of them. It is my happy place. So, so peaceful.
And of course, answering emails, planning programs.
Then I drive downtown for my GI appointment.
I am no fan of doctors, and I cry twice -- once with the nurse and once with the doctor. We set up an appointment for an endoscopy in two weeks. They could do it Thursday, but Andy will be out of town and I need a driver and a child-watcher. They give you the good drugs.
Home again to find my family in the backyard raking and pulling up weeds.
And the neighbor kids come and help too.
I love staring up into the lush green canopy of our backyard. Everything is so shady we can't grow anything -- but I have my JCC garden plot for growing veggies. We do need to do some serious terracing and landscaping of the backyard. Right now we're just working on pulling weeds. It's been a three weekend project, and a few more to go. It was very wild back there.
Weeds and roots.
"Look Mama, We're making smoke!"
And precious dirty toes with blue glitter nail polish, already chipped and we just painted them yesterday.
Dinner is leftovers. Seared Tuna and Asian Salad for me, quinoa salad and melons for Orli and Andy. Hummus for everyone. Always hummus.
And we practice writing names.
Tomorrow is T-Ball and Andy will be out of town, so I cook up a pasta salad for Orli and I to have for dinner on the run tomorrow. She's quite exciting I'm using the letter pasta.
After bath hugs. She hit her front tooth on the stairs months ago; it turned dark but is starting to very gradually lighten up again. She calls it her sparkle tooth.
Bedtime friends in a row and ready to go.
And Andy caught me getting ready to brush my teeth. Camera ambush!

Great photos and stories! Sending you hugs for your stomach issues! Totally off subject - but have you ever tried essential oils to help give you some support and relief in that area?
ReplyDeleteHere's to day 2! XO!
